The sports satire site was started in 1998 when a handful of sports reporters scattered around the country decided to try their hand at comedy. The popular site joined the Rivals.com family a year later – and bolted the following year during the dot-com collapse. The site is currently, allegedly, owned by a Japanese toy manufacturer, Kansai Krap, Ltd.
